No such thing as a dumb question. Instant Pot has the manual button (this does not and i have the 8 quart. Disappointed. However, it works just press chicken for chicken. Meat for meat like roast or meatballs etc. Fish for fish. Etc.) A lot of recipes even on YouTube (and the Instant Pot Bible) will say press Manual. This is the major difference. But it still works like the Instant Pot. Also, some come with accessories for like canning etc. So far that is the only difference I noticed. Also, keep track of sales, and Deal of the Day (check every day cause you never know what you could save money on that you been wanting or needing) and under that will be bonus deals of the day. I found an InstantPot (maybe it was the Insignia) for like $30? Instead of over $100? It was like a good $75 savings. Which is Great! Ohh and 6 quart (either pot) is usually for small families like of one, two, possibly three. 8 and 10 quart is for bigger meals, etc, and bigger families.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it is too do with the customization options you get. If I know this right, the instant pot allows you to set the pressure to low, high or medium whereas this pot doesn't have any manual control for pressure. Instant pot might have a stramule steel pot compared to the non-stick pot this one comes with. And the instant pot is more expensive. Also, the instant pot has a setting for yogurt. Don't know if there are other major differences.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A higher price tag on the one. The item is just as good and all the "name brand" accessories fit including the steel pot.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.just the brand. and when it comes time to look for replacement part it might be tougher.
