There isn't much cushioning surrounding the fridge, so the box isn't much larger. It's 62 x 27. I was able to fit mine into a Kia Soul, which is pretty small. It did protrude by about 4 inches, so I had to tie the hatch down and take surface streets home, but it was fine. You should be good w/ an Explorer.
