• The cap slides onto the Pencil and over the Pencil cap. It stays attached to the Pencil when charging. A must have in my opinion , in order not to lose the Pencil cap(which I Did) I could not find a replacement cap for the Pencil. When I bought a new Pencil, I found this and bought it. Problem solve. hope this helps.

• It attaches the adapter to the charging cord. Place the middle of the tether against the cord, then pass the oblong end through the round end and pull to tighten.
