• Add a battery and change it once a year and the settings and times remain, that its until the battery runs out.

• If you had a good battery in the clock before the power went out then yes. The battery will allow the clock to save your settings so the next time you plug it in it should all be there for you. The battery will not allow the clock to display time or sound the alarm.

• It should return to normal time IF it has the backup batteries in place to power the clock. It will only DISPLAY the time when plugged in though.
