Yes. It does come with a remote. You will need to have the original TV remote, The earlier digital boxes you Could program the remote for the TV, so you could control both TV and Box with one remote. this remote only works on the box. Bottom line this is your only choice, if you still have a analog TV like I do. I did plenty of research before buying. Unless you buy something else online. I had preferred the Digital Stream DTX9900 which is not available any more unless you find a good used one.

Yes! But don't buy it. Mine froze while setting up and channel scrolling! Got stuck on channel 64
