“The new vcrs don’t have tuners and hooking a Sharp 32” hdtv to the new vcr won’t record. I believe this tuner is what is needs to hook xfinity cable to the vcr to be able to record the cable channels like the old days of vcrs?”

Hi. This Box receives signal via Coaxial Cable and outputs it to an HDMI port. To record this box you would need an HDMI recording card. Most likely, due to content protection laws in place, Cable Services like xFinity really want to avoid customers recording shows. We are always here to help you and thanks for your comments.
