No, the adapter will not work for this scenario you are describing. This is a directional cable, the video source should comes from the DisplayPort (a computer) to be displayed on an HDMI input (for example an external monitor or TV). David M. - Insignia Support

Please try again later.From what I see, the XBox One S has an HDMI output so this DP-to-HDMI adapter is irrelevant (unless you are using a dock with your laptop that has DP outputs). The other issue is your ASUS doesn't appear to have an HDMI input, only output, so this would not work. I would check your laptop manual to confirm this. Either way, you don't need this adapter to accomplish what you intended to do.
