      This unit is a passive adapter, it will only carry one display signal.

      Unfortunately no. This is unidirectional. It goes from a DisplayPort to HDMI.

      Yes, the sound is also transferred to the TV. I have my TV connected to a sound system and it comes through fine.

        it should work on either. If the Mac has a DisplayPort built-in to it, then this will work.

          Make sure your at 30fps. This isn't 2.0 so it won't do 4k at 60fps. I had same problem. It will do 1080@ 60fps.

        I have an NVIDiA GTX980 video card in my PC. The single HDMI on the GTX980 is being used by my Oculus Rift. Can I use this adapter to connect to the Display port output from the GTX980 to connect to HDMI on my monitor with an HDMI 2.0 cable?   (10 Answers)

          Yes. the adaptor will plug in to your 980 card, (check that the adaptor inserts all the way in, mine didn't on the same video card) and your HDMI cable from your monitor will plug into the other end of the adaptor.

            The specs on the back of the box says it supports 1080p and ultra HD 4k x 2k resolution for TV, monitor, and projectors. Sounds like it will work for you.

              Displayport has the capability to carry audio however it will come down to the device (graphics card, console, etc) and whether it supports it or not.

              I just bought a game monitor says runs at 144hz.. my Xbox hdmi can only run at 60hz.... so can I use this cord to get that 144hz??   (1 Answer)

                Realistically, it depends on the rate at which you're Xbox sends the video signal, so if it's not sending the signal at 144, it won't matter which cord you're using.
