To go from HDMI to DP requires an active transcoder; and even with one of these your DP signal will be of identical quality to it's HDMI source.

Even the active HDMI to DP or miniDP adpters will have limitations, and in many cases may result in artifacts at high refresh rates (anything beyond 60Hz). HDMI 2.0 will carry high refresh rates but I would suggest not using adapters.
