well i was gonna try that but i dont have anything that takes display port only pushes it . This insignia adapter says pc on the display port male side and has a monitor picture on the hdmi female side which leads me to believe that it is a one way adapter dont quote me . i also have an insignia display port to hdmi conversion wire and it does not have the indicators on it for direction maybe chek that out also from Best Buy. yeah, i got all that stuff out. over here to try it out, macbook pro, adapter (7 dollars from china ) , cable (display port to hdmi) ,and / or adapter (display port to hdmi) cable , standard hdmi cable and a beefy one too, and then i realized no display port monitor >.< XD thats the whole reason i got all the adapter and conversion cables XD "Sience !!!!!" said loudly with athority how dumb lol Chek into the stand alone cable it looks like it might be the ticket it just says insignia on the ends Best Buy has different length offerings but i didnt see anything over 12ft so i got the adapter for the third display. and FYI if You go in the computer section at Best buy and they dont have your cable or its too short etc... . the computer dept also dont know if the TV department Does have it without calling over there. SO to save a trip all ways check Over the TV Department Before giving up .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, from my experience standard or traditional HMDI to DP cables do not always work. With my HP desktop and Acer monitor, i needed a HDMI to DP cable with extra power (i.e., it had a USB power cable as well to boost the video signal). Best Buy directed me to a few different cables (all without the extra power) and none worked. The down side to what worked for me, is that you'll need a free USB port to plug into.
