Yes, I've done this with the iPad 2 and an iPod (4th generation) touch . You will need the proper Apple cable (Apple - Digital A/V Adapter - currently $39 at Best Buy). Display's what's on the screen after a few seconds of being connected. Makes presentations to a small group easy and without needing AC power.
