“I bought this so that we could plug in two sets of headphones to my ipad and watch shows but the sound is totally distorted. It’s like I’m only getting the background noise of the show and not the voices of the characters. What am I doing wrong?”

• Doesn’t sound like the plug was seeded all the way, or you possibly have some dirt/grime in your 3.5mm port.

• I rotated the aux male adapter of the one that was having difficulty (which the other had no problem) and I didn't have a problem after that.

• You’re doing nothing wrong. I have the same issue and I’ve tried two now on my iPad Pro. I’m planning to return and find something else. Such a waste of money.
