Since the insignia 3.5 mm splitter male connector shows only 2 rings and a tip at the top, my guess is you're better looking elsewhere.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You don't want this splitter based on what you laid out. That single audio port I assume provides for sounds out, as well as microphone in. I don't have the name of one off hand, but you need to ask for a audio splitter that's for a single jack, but both input and output. You also may want to consider a USB unit that doesn't use the single audio port, but splits mic and headphone via USB. I have one that came with Dragon Dictate and it works like a charm. My desktop however has separate plugs for mic in and audio out, so I can use one with a plug (they do make them!), but am happy with what I got for "free" with Dragon. Just ask Best Buy rep on the floor and specify (it will also say on the packaging) that it provides mic in and audio out from a single jack connector. So your splitter has the same 3 plugs, but they're a bit longer (more bands of metal separated by a black insulating level, as the plug has to make contact with the audio and mic contact points inside the HP front jack.
