No. This is meant for a maximum of 39" TV sets. It would either be too small or your TV would be too heavy for this to be secured safely.

If the manufacturer says 19" to 39", it's probably for a good reason. I would recommend that you stick to a size range that includes 40".

No, you will have to look for one that includes your TV size. I know this because I asked a Best Buy representative the same thing.

No, this mount is only rated to support up to a 39" tv.

This wall mount will work with any 19" - 39" TV that is VESA compliant and weighs less than 50 lbs. Since your TV is 40" it will be too big for this mount.
