• Yes, I mounted mine on a plaster wall. Just be sure to secure to studs in the wall.

• No, if you mean just mounting it on the plaster. If you are attaching it to a stud, then it should work. If not, then you can find “studless” wall mounts that work with nails. Although you want to be sure your plaster is really solid and you mount a light TV.
