This radio does not pick up AM stations.

However, the current trend for a lot of big AM radio stations is to simulcast on an FM frequency as an "HD2" station, so it's essentially piggybacking on an HD feed that the same company runs. For example, both AM 610 and AM 1230 here in Columbus have HD2 feeds on FM stations that are run in town here. So, you'll likely be able to get stations that you'd normally get on AM, but the frequency will be different and you'll want to research before buying.

Mine has no AM reception capability. Some FM HD stations in my city are re-broadcasting AM stations, probably because the same company owns both.

Please try again later.No, HD is FM only, but in my area of Philadelphia there are AM stations that are being simultaneously broadcast on FM Band in HighDef Digital audio format if that is what you mean. Example 1210 AM KYW news radio can also be heard on HD Radio that is on the FM band on 94.1 (WIP) HD2+(KYW). It takes a little getting used to but is easy to understand once you have one of these radios. I just looked at my radio, when I select Source I get HD(FM) Radio or Auxiliary In (The radio has an auxiliary input jack). The radio has 20 memory positions to select your favorite preset. If there is some secret Digital AM band that this radio can do, I have not read about it and have not figured out how to access it. I don't think it has AM Digital, but there are some AM stations being broadcast on HD(FM). Hope this helps.
