I attached an external antenna to my HD radio with an 1/8" to coax adapter. It allowed me to connect a larger home antenna to the radio. Works great. The pigtail antenna is a nice accessory to have, but it didn't improve my reception that significantly. I appreciate the ability to connect a larger antenna to the port.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It uses a mono 3.5mm plug to connect an optional external antenna. You may need an adapter for 3.5mm to type F for the antenna. ShowMe Cables has that adapter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine came with the attached telescoping antenna and the pigtail antenna that plugs into the back. I don't know if Best Buy has that same antenna, but any other 3.5mm pigtail antenna you can get from an electronics store should work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Does your local high school have a radio/circuits/hardware class? Pig tails are easy to make - Maybe a class project?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nope. Only a telescoping antenna mounted on the unit. That being said, it is a great radio with 20 presets possible.
