It would depend on your headphones. This device just makes it so you can connect headphones to an iPhone.

Please try again later.Thus far it has not been used for calls, just for listening to music, YouTube, etc. But it has not yet given any issues with any controls for volume, or muting or anything. This is when being paired with a gaming headset too (as opposed to traditional phone earphones).

You are able to make/receive a phone call with your headphones provided your headphones come equipped with media controls and a microphone (However, I'd be surprised if there are any headphones still produced without such hardware)
