• Unfortunately, this adapter wouldn’t be able to connect an iPad or iPhone 7 to a tv because those devices have lightning cable connection instead of a mini display port

• No. It would work with an older MacBook, not the the iPad or iPhone. I believe there is an lightning port to hdmi converter that costs around $50. Personally, I’d buy an Apple TV and connect wirelessly if within your budget. I just switched back from android, and I really missed having Airplay.
