So...what are you trying to DO here. This is a DisplayPort->HDMI, not the other way arounnd, adapter. If you're trying to hook up the DVD player via HDMI to a netbook, you're going to be GRAVELY disappointed. Unless you have one where they thought about adding DVD playback support in the software, there'll be no way for it to do that for you. If they did, you'll be spending money on a DVD drive that you can plug into one of your few USB ports on the Chromebook. It cannot be used solely as a display because there is no special hardware to capture HDMI so you can push it to the display panel on that Chromebook.
