• It has to be charged initially, but after that it runs like any other bluetooth speaker for an undetermined amount of time. I usually just leave mine plugged in because its easier that way. It can even charge another device while it is plugged into the wall via USB slot on the side of the unit, like a phone. This works "Only while plugged in" though.
