• Good news! I just read your question, and decided to find out what would happen if I shut down in the middle of a track. I shut my player down, completely powered off. I turned it back on a minute later and it began exactly where I left off in the middle of a track.

• I suggest you should put back the player back on, then skip a track using the fast forward button on the right hand side . Or if you Want to skip another track or two do the same thing and you'll be back from the beginning.
