I can only believe that it wasn’t cleaned before use. Mine didn’t have a lingering taste at all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Please do not spend your money on this icemaker. I bought it and had it running for about five hours and it made a cupfull of ice. The ice cubes are the size of small pellets. The worst thing about it is I got a notice from Best Buy saying that it was nonrefundable. You’re better off buying ice trays at the dollar store.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A chemical taste can be minimized by filtering the water before adding it to the machine. One of the least expensive ways to do this is to buy a filtered pitcher, into which you pour water, and by the point it is in the pitcher, it has been filtered. It takes a few minutes for the water to trickle through the filter, but other methods start out about twenty times the price of the filtration pitcher.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As previously stated, if you follow the accompanying directions for first use, you'll cycle it several times before using ice for drinks. Mine has had no unusual tastes whatsoever.
