“Only had machine a little over a year. Appears to have some rusting of the side hinges for mechanism that pushes ice out. Why is this happening and is there something that I can replace?”

DO NOT buy this product!! Ice Maker quit working after 3 months. Even though the Insignia brand is owned by Best Buy, they would not support the 1 year warranty!! We will not shop at Best Buy again!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Even though we haven’t had this problem in either of our two machines we cleaned them was a week but only with water. The best thing we found is to dry it as best as you can with paper towels and leave the lid open till completely dry. I’ve also used a blow dryer to make sure it’s dry.
