“Will this work with microsoft charge and play kit Specs say compatible with "Xbox One charging solutions" but when I plug in the battery and connect my usb cable from my microsoft charge and play kit no charge light appears.”

You might have to update your controller firnware. I updated my firmware and it works with the plug n play kit

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, you have to have the Charge and Play kit battery. I did the same thing and no light. I plugged Charge and Play battery in with USB cable and orange light came on, then after awhile, it turned white.

As you can see when looking inside of the battery casing of the controller and at the Microsoft branded rechargeable battery, there is a set of three connectors on one end that are separate from the main two connectors that power the controller. When the Microsoft rechargeable battery is installed and the usb cable connected these are the three connectors that charge the battery. The insignia battery packs relocate these connectors to the flat side of the battery pack so that they can make a connection to the charging stand.
