Short Answer: No! Long Answer: Legacy land line phones use RJ-11 connections where Ethernet uses RJ-45 connections. RJ-11 connectors have 4 wires and usually only two of those wires are used. They're called tip and ring. RJ-45 connectors have eight wires and are rated for different speeds such as CAT3, CAT4, CAT5, CAT6, etc.
