• Only charges controllers. Does not connect to console. Plugs into wall and controllers sit on top to charge.

• Yes it will. If you follow the instructions and connect up two usb ports on the Xbox one. This way will allow enough current to power the external hard drive. You can use only one port for power but you will not be able to utilize all the port with other peripherals.
