It can now! Updates over the past few months now allow you to make calls!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It cannot make a call, at least at this time. The Google Home and Google Home Mini have the ability to make calls, but if you ask this speaker to do the same, it responds "Sorry, I can't make calls yet". For Google Home, Cast firmware version 1.28.99351 or higher is required: https://support.google.com/googlehome/answer/7363847 That said, this speaker has Cast firmware version 1.28.101871, which is higher, but it would appear that the calling functionality has not been extended to non-Google devices yet (I assume the same is true for the Sony/Onkyo/Panasonic/Anker/JBL/Mobvoi speakers as well).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will make voice phone calls now, given your provider is supported. Go to your Google Home settings and check the Voice and Video calling section or ask the speaker to make a call and it will prompt your phone to check the settings. If it doesn't then try powering on and off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it can! I've had this great product for many months, but I just noticed this question tonight. I thought, "Let's try it," and it worked! I asked for a name listed in my phone's directory, and it worked like a charm. Thank you, Insignia!!
