Thanks for your question! The Instant Vortex Air Fryer may have an odor the first few uses, however it should dissipate. We suggest rinsing and drying the cooking trays before using them as well as double checking that there is no tape, plastic or any other packaging material attached to the unit. To remove smells, wipe down the inside of the unit using a slightly damp cloth with water, vinegar, and baking soda. Please also dry the interior thoroughly before use. We hope this helps!
