• Yes. There is an instant pot lid & separate air fryer lid that comes with this model. The air fryer lid can be lifted at any time during the cycle

• The lid is not locked. You lift the lid off. That will automatically stop the heating and timer then restart when you put it back on. In a couple modes it will stop and beep to tell you to take lid off and turn food.
