• This is an 8th gen processor and yours is a 6th. Im not positive if this will work on a 6th gen but i doubt that. But you always wanna go with i5 or 7 if your upgrading. Youll want an i5-6xxx or i7-6xxx

• Yes it would be a good upgrade,but it really depends on what you are doing, and what is already in your computer (most importantly the motherboard) all in all to make it simple if you can afford an i5 8th gen, then do that, but if you are comparing an i5 7th gen and an i3 8th, most likely do an i3 8th gen. but again it depends on when it is you do and the mother board you have
