“Does it come with sand? If not, what kind of sand is recommended and how much?”

It does NOT come with Sand. I purchased 3 50lb bags and almost used all of it. I just searched for pool filter sand and purchased it from Lowes.

You will need #20 Silica Sand with a particle size range of 0.45mm to 0.85mm (0.018in to 0.033in). Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No sand. We used aquaquarts 20grade silica sand. It doesn’t call for a specific brand but it does call for a specific grade.
