• I had QB 2005 on Windows xp and was told I could not convert my records to QB 2017 on Windows10. I did a backup of QB 2005 (had to use an old external drive compatible with Windows xp). I installed QB 2017 on new computer with Windows 10. Then, I restored from the backup. I had to answer questions about which type of Windows and Quickbooks my backup came from. It transfered everything, all settings, files and data.

• Make sure you back up your accounts before installing 2017, then just follow the instructions on the screen. No worries even I can do it.
