“Can this be used with the latest android phones with type c usb ports? Does it reauire additional software to do so?”

• IOGEAR Says: Thank you for choosing IOGEAR . The GSR205 is plug and play as far as the hardware however middleware is required for the card itself. A computer with an operating system is required . The answer is no this is not compatible with an android phone. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

• Are there even apps to read a Cac card for iPhone or Android OS’s? I haven’t seen any mobile device OS apps to accept military CAC or federal PIV as there are too many security risks. I’d be interested to find out too but not till there are working authorized apps

• I'm not familiar with this model. I have an 8+ Apple and it does not have a port. Never heard of a phone that did. Maybe I'm behind times. Just ask the dealer or google your specific phone. I think it would be awkward to have a phone with a usb port.. Sorry I don't know more about that issue.
