Yes the Ion Audio Sport XL is capable of playing a dynamic microphone (included) back while playing music. If the Rode microphone is a condenser mic, with an XLR cable that requires Phantom Power, then it will not work with this speaker, for both reasons--this speaker does not have an XLR port, nor does it supply Phantom Power. Although, If the Rode is a dynamic mic that has a 1/4" cable, then yes it should work fine.
