• It does a pretty good job but it's not perfect. If you face the machine away from carpet it will create an invisible boundary. This works very well.

• Hello Max, The Braava jet 240 is one of our older models and is good at detecting most big obstacles like walls and furniture. But it can't tell if it's on carpet or on a hard floor. If there's a big enough threshold, it may avoid a carpeted area.
