• Yes it will, unless your rugs have long tails or threads, those definitely cause a problem. But I just move the particular item during the clean up.

• Large flat rugs are no problem. Usually does well on bathroom rugs but sometimes gets stuck. Definitely has not damaged my rugs.

• I have a large area rug in my main room and it just goes up on it and vacuums. The smaller rugs I have in the bathrooms it just shoves them out of the way. I have never seen it chew up a rug.
