QuestionDoes this have to have a monthly subscription to keep it running? How does it know where to go?

- Answer No subscription required. It's a very smart little device. You press the Clean button on top of the machine and it vacuums the entire floor space that it can access. It gently bumps items like furniture and then maneuvers around it. It can also spot clean--nice for small messes.

QuestionHow often does the filter need to be changed? Where can it be purchased?

- Answer I clean mine at least 3 times a week. But I use it every day and have a 5,000 sq ft home with a cat. An additional filter is included, they are washable and reusable.

QuestionThis says "app controlled." Yikes. I just ordered it for my mother, and she does not have a cell phone. Is it required to have a cell phone?????

- Answer Suzanne - No need to have an app, the robot has controls on the top to turn it on, tell it to return to 'home base', etc. The app is useful for scheduling the robot to vacuum at certain times, and it will also notify through the app if the robot got stuck, has completed the job, and so on...

- Answer Measures 13.9" diameter and 3.6" high. A charging station sits on the floor, it automatically docks and recharges. It is bagless, you just dump the waster container.

QuestionWhat all does it come with. Do I have to pay extra for the dock. I read on one model the dock was extra. Also if I want the wet mop, it is $170.00 or so extra, right. I am trying to learn as much as I can before I buy it. Centrally located in home?

- Answer The unit comes with a dock - we put the dock under a chair in the middle area of the house, and it comes out on schedule and cleans most rooms - some days it will skip one and get another. Then after about an hour it goes back to the dock. The wife really likes it -

QuestionDoes anyone who owns this model find that it is sort of loud?? The part that is the loudest is not the vacuum part but the part that makes it move I guess. Just wondering if anyone else found it loud or is there something wrong with mine?

- Answer Yeah ours is loud. Sounds like it struggles. Loud enough we have to talk over it. Not happy with the noise but it does help.

QuestionIf it's running upstairs, what happens when it actually comes to the top step? Does it detect the "drop off" or can it fall down stairs?

- Answer It is designed not to go over edge. Mine usually senses the edge and turns around and goes in a different direction. It has, on one occasion, just stopped and given a verbal message to "move Roomba to a new location".

QuestionWith all its bouncing around and rerouting itself, does it miss areas and leave some surfaces uncleaned?

- Answer Have not had any issues with uncleaned areas when rerouting. Cleans very well. Only issue is it gets caught on the edge of my throw rug sometimes and when it goes behind my recliner/couch/love seat it tries to go under them to clean but gets caught as they are not high enough to access underneath. Other than that, I am very well pleased with it and highly recommend to everyone. Cleans better than any vacuum I have ever owned. I never truly believed the reviews I read before but now that I own one I would not trade it. I have been using it for approximately 2 months. My husband has asthma and he said he breathes better because it cleans so well.

- Answer It's a powerful vacuum, pretty much picks up everything. I blow dry my hair it falls out a lot, and bathroom floor is full it picks it up fine as well as in the carpet. Pretty sure it'll pick up dog hair.

QuestionHow large is the dirt reservoir, and how often does it have to be emptied?

- Answer I empty it after every use, i would estimate is only about a 3-4 cup bin. the filter is inside the bin, so it is a good idea to shake it out, especially if you have pets like I do.

- Answer it runs for about an hour. then goes home, recharges and you can direct it through wifi to go at it again.

- Answer Yes, actually you could. It is connected with an app on your phone, so if it stops or dies somewhere, you just can hit the home dock button on your app and it should make a tone or move back to the base.

- Answer This robot follows a random pattern and zig zags around the room until it has covered it completely. This means sometimes it repeats some areas more than once. It does not "learn" the room, it just goes until it senses an object and then goes in a different direction. I have noticed that a ray of sunlight will cause it to pause slightly before continuing.

QuestionWe have 3000sf on the main floor (kit, frml living & dining, nook, bath, & family rm). It's all slate, hardwood, & silk rugs. Will this resume where it left off during the next scheduled cleaning? I plan to have it run every other day (no kids or pets) .

- Answer This robot will need to be moved to each room. It will leave the room if the door is open ahnd may not find it's way back to home. This model does not "learn" the house layout and ours usually gets "lost" if left to roam from room to room and runs out of charge and stops.
