• it comes with a device that allows you to section off areas you don't want the machine to run....if they are loose cords, they will become entangled.

• Any loose cords will tangle in this vacuum and some what in thick carpets too. Best to keep cords out of it's way or if taped to floor that there is no mobility of the cords to keep it from going.

• We have been using it for a few weeks now and have not had any issues with this. We have cords for lamps that are running rather far and it will bump against the cord and turn around.
