It's not quite 100% random but it's not quite a grid pattern either (though you can 'spot' it like the old models, i believe), there is some kind of logic to it, but i don't think i can explain it. It has sensors, avoids obstacles, turns corners without having to bump something, slows down as it approaches things, when it finds dirts it spends more time in an area, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wouldn't say mine necessarily cleans in a set grid pattern but it will clean every bit of my house if I don't have doors shut. It will not, however, keep going over the same spot over and over and over. It will get the job done.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.randomly
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From what I've seen, the Roomba 890 cleans randomly. It will eventually get everything, so there is some method to its random movements. The Roomba 980 cleans in a more grid pattern because of the better camera system on that model.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have a very open living room and it vacuums in a grid in that room. I say that room because others it has to dodge things like the dinning room table, stools at the bar etc.I have it set to run around 4pm almost daily and it looks like someone that works with a cleaning company had just vacuumed the living room because of the straight lines it leaves.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Randomly, but it does work well, even though if you watch it go it looks pretty inefficient.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can make it do either. There's the normal "go" mode where it just goes randomly, and then there's a "waffle" mode where it will clean in smaller area in a grid fashion for 10 minutes or so
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's in a zig-zag pattern. Doesn't always get 100% coverage but does a pretty good job covering the entire surface. It eventually learns your home!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Completely random and borderline annoying. All models with no exceptions. Currently have the s9 that supposed to clean in a grid and never miss a spot.for that I’ll say-lmfao! Those things are a waste of money I had over 12 of all kinds.take it back if you still can.in a few months it would be a paper weight.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is supposed to clean in a grid, but it frequently gets lost and covers the same area over and over again.
