“When the mop and vacuum attachment is on, how does the machine adjust for area rugs that are on the hard wood or tile floors that require mopping? Does the machine detect there's a rug and not go up onto the area rug and wet it? Please inform.”

Hello dbone1d, with the Vacuum Bin installed, the Roomba Combo i5/i5+ will deliver thorough vacuum cleaning on hard floors and carpets. Swapping to the Combo Bin will add an additional level of cleaning with mopping on hard floors. When using the Combo Bin, carpets and rugs should be rolled up or removed from the room to keep them clean and dry. Alternatively, users can use the iRobot Home App or their voice assistant to send their Combo i5/i5+ to clean rooms without rugs or carpets.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The video suggests the first time obstructing access to the rugs by picking up the sides f the rugs and folding over. I think you can then teach it to map specific to mopping but I haven't mastered that yet.
