Your phone should be able to tell you how much data each app uses, the higher quality content uses more data. The amount of data that goes through your phone has nothing to do with this device.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It does not use data to stream music to this unit if you have the files/songs locally on the phone. If you are using a program like Pandora, Spotify, SiriusXM, etc. that uses data to get the content, then you will be using data at that point.

If you download songs ahead of time using wi-fi and play them back through this using a file player app, then you are not using your phone plan data. If you use a streaming service like YouTube or YouTube Music, then the streaming service downloads may use a lot of your phone plan. Using this to make a phone call is the same as making a phone call without it.

If data is used, it could come from any music streaming services naturally going through your phone. But the Bluetooth does not enhance data usage
