• I have a one inch thick desk top with a 1/4 glass cover on top. I was able to clamp this mount leaving me at least 2 more inch clearance. (see pic)

• The opening is not 2.75. This is with the clamp open all the way. I actually have a thicker desk and am opening you have a thicker clamp or know of an alternative that can still fit the mount.
