“Going from 2 to 3 monitors - will I need to download drivers or since I am already using split screens will windows recognize that there is now an additional monitor. And please verify that the 2 on the adaptor will not mirror each other.”

Hi, It won't mirror the screen unless you tell it to. You have to go into Windows 10/11 Display Settings and change it to Extend Desktop Display
