“Is there a way to get the power cord to connect to this and supply the laptop with power as well? and only one of the HDMI ports works. Do these have full functionality with a macbook pro or did I buy and half working plastic wedge that has a USB port?”

There is a port for optional power supply. I had to add a power supply to get the second HDMI to work, but I have a 10 ft run to monitor on the wall. I have run a 2 HDMI output for a year now. I run a PC so not sure about macbook issues.

Regarding the HDMI, if it's the one that it next to the VGA port, it requires drivers that can be found on our website under the "Support" tab > "Downloads/Drivers".
