“Can I successfully run 2 HDMI cords from docking station to 2 external monitors? I plugged 1 in HDMI(detected) and the other in Side by side HDMI that is linked to DP with the HDMI--or--DP. In the latter port it does not detect the monitor.”

I experienced the same problem. I had to plug 1 HDMI cable directly into the side of the laptop
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The HDMI port under the word "OR" works with a computer that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode for video out over USB-C. Without that feature the HDMI or DP will not work. Those are Plug n Play video ports.
