The wireless dongle from your keyboard can plug into either the dock or your laptop and work just fine.

When it comes to better functionality, we recommend wired mice, keyboards since the JCD543 has USB 3.0 ports and cause radio frequency interference causing lagging, glitching while trying to use the wireless peripherals.
