• Yes it requires a USB type-c power supply. I bought this for my mac therefore the laptop power supply goes into the dock and the dock into the laptop and everything is then happy and powered!

• The JCD543 can operate via power from the computer's USB C port, however for best performance it it recommended to attach a power supply.

• Power supply is not required but some devices might need one to work properly. Like a WD Passport.

• Doesn't require one to operate unless you want it to pass though power to charge your laptop. You can charge your laptop with a separate power supply or via the dock if you buy an additional USB C power supply for the dock.
