I attached a 4 port hub to one of the existing ports and it works fine. I do have a power supply attached to the doc, I expect this may be needed to drive a lot of devices.

We do not recommend it as doing so is considered daisy-chaining and this causes signal degradation, causing the USB gadgets to possibly not work at all. The USB ports are intended for smaller gadgets such as mice, keyboards, flash drives, web cams; for a USB hub, we recommend connecting that directly to the computer rather than our dock.
