“Will this work on an apple that only has an hdmi and usb? Can I get a usb-c to usb and it will work?”

If you do not have USB-C on the Mac, we do not recommend using converters as they do not always work. Probably will not work. USB-C has a faster data rate then regular USB and supports additional information. The device works on my 2018 MacBook Air with Thunderbolt3 but not my 2015 MacBook Pro.

For any of the functionality to work on this device, usb-c speeds are needed. If your Apple does not have usb-c I personally wouldn’t believe that this would be a good fit for you.
