If you do not have USB-C on the Mac, we do not recommend using converters as they do not always work. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Probably will not work. USB-C has a faster data rate then regular USB and supports additional information. The device works on my 2018 MacBook Air with Thunderbolt3 but not my 2015 MacBook Pro.
